Watching the press conference introducing Terry Pegula as the Sabres new owner, I fully empathized with his hero worship of Gil Perreault. Old enough to having seen him play a bunch of times, when he got the puck to start a rush, the Aud would developed its own buzz and heartbeat in a way HSBC Arena never has.
Especially in the French Connection years, the show he could put on was something to see.

When the reunited line skated out on the night of Pegula’s first game, yeah, it took me back too. That sound was typical of their days.
