Lot of folks will show up as empty seats, at least on this night. It’s preseason, so I couldn’t blame a few for not checking in.
So, we don’t live hockey anymore. We build it.
Back to the moonlighting grind the other night with the Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes. It was preseason for everybody. Another usher colleague of mine allowed how “you have to get used to this, get your body comfortable with the standing.” The layoff between events does take a little to shake the cobwebs, but nobody from players on up wants too much drama in a game that means nothing. Another security dude mentioned how great it would be for “a rolling clock.”
We all got our wish, home team won, in timely fashion and by 10:00, roughly 14 hours after the day got rolling I was home.
The elves are working on tweaking things a bit at big bank arena, Hopefully it adds up to some fun hockey to get paid for watching.
